San Francisco partners with Nordsense to monitor bins
Nordsense, an artificial intelligence-based waste management technology company, has announced it has secured a contract with the San Francisco to optimize waste collection across the city.
Beginning this spring, Nordsense, headquartered in Denmark, will install 1,000 multi-point reference sensors in waste bins along major commercial corridors. The small pods monitor activity, including bin fullness, temperature and fill rates in order to identify waste generation patterns. Collected data will help the city mitigate container overflow, reduce the number of overall collections, guide bin placement and optimize operational resources.
